The South Mississippi native and graduate of St. Martin High School went on to study medicine in Alabama and Arizona before returning home to practice at Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists. He brings innovation with the most current surgical approaches and his special way with his patients.
Before joining Bienville Orthopaedics, Dr. Wittersheim served as resident of orthopaedic surgery at the University of South Alabama, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Mobile. He has had special training in Phoenix, Arizona, under Dr. Anthony Hedley who pioneered the superior approach to hip replacements.

Dr. Wittersheim’s clinical interests include total hip and knee replacement and revision surgery, robotic arthroplasty and minimally invasive/superior approach hip replacements. He is licensed to practice medicine in Mississippi, Alabama and Arizona.
