Dr. Lewis joined Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists in 2015. He brings expertise in sports medicine, having completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, MS. During his fellowship, he had the opportunity to provide medical coverage for Hinds Community College football games during the 2014-2015 season.
Dr. Lewis completed his residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mississippi College.
He is the only surgeon in South Mississippi performing hip arthroscopy and specializes in shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee arthroscopic procedures. In addition to his surgical expertise, Dr. Lewis offers general orthopedic care with a focus on sports-related injuries and conditions. He trained under world-renowned shoulder surgeons Buddy Savoie and Larry Field, as well as renowned knee surgeon Walter Shelton during his fellowship.
Dr. Lewis has a strong history of providing athletic coverage, having worked with the Kansas City Royals (MLB) from 2009 to 2014 and now offering sideline medical support to local high schools on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Originally from the Byram/Terry area in South Jackson, Dr. Lewis is married and a proud father of two children. Outside of his medical practice, he enjoys staying active through a variety of sports, including football, basketball, and weight training.
