Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine
Dr. Chandler joined Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists in 2010. He is the first physical medicine & rehabilitation specialist to join the practice. As a physiatrist, he specializes in the diagnosis and non-surgical management of musculoskeletal and neurologic disorders. His specialty also includes the management of amputees and patients with strokes, traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. As an osteopathic physician, he also performs osteopathic manipulation as part of his practice. Because of his background as a musician, he has a particular interest in performance art medicine, treating the injuries of musicians and performers. His practice is characterized by a holistic hands-on approach to pain relief using a full spectrum of treatments from osteopathic manual treatment to physical therapy and a judicious use of pharmacologic treatments. He is most interested in preventing the development of chronic pain and to help improve his patient’s function and quality of life. After graduating from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and finishing a Osteopathic Rotating Internship in Missouri, he completed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, he has followed his wife, who is a physician in the Air Force, to the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast.
